What is Content Marketing? Content Marketing is essentially the creation and distribution of valuable, shareable and relevant content that your targeted audience actually wants to consume. In this post, I’ll go through a few different types of content marketing, and tell you why it’s so important for your business.
There are many different types of Content Marketing, though one form of Content Marketing that is becoming more popular is Infographics. Infographics or Information Graphics, are large amounts of information condensed and combined with images, allowing the viewer to easily read and understand the information. Because Infographics generally combine images and more colour, they are more eye-catching than just standard print, so they are a great way to make sure your message is received.
An example of a successful content marketing campaign is an infographic one of the guys here at Search Factory put together, titled The Crazy Sh*t People Search For On Google, which is pretty self-explanatory. This relevant, interesting infographic went viral not long after being published and was picked up by some pretty big names such as News.com.au and Foxbusiness.com.
Videos are also a great form of Content Marketing. The opportunities with video are endless and creating an informative video or an entertaining animation is one of the most engaging forms of Content Marketing. Plus, with so many video sharing platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, it’s easy to get your content out there for millions of potential viewers.

The final form of Content Marketing I will touch on is blogging. Creating a blog is a pretty standard yet very effective form of Content Marketing. Establishing and regularly updating a blog is a great way to get your opinion or knowledge out there and build trust with your audience. Plus, if your blog is optimised correctly, you can improve your website’s search engine rankings for more informative based searches, as well as capture users in their research phase and keep your business in their mind when they are ready to act.
