THE CLIENT

Though now absorbed into the Flight Centre brand, Cruiseabout was previously the best place for cruise deals and an outstanding source of cruising information. Both our Content and SEO teams worked with this client from Search Factory’s early days.

THE OBJECTIVES

Cruiseabout recognised that their website didn’t answer every question their customers could ask. One of the key gaps was found to be specific port destination pages.

The client came to us looking for content that was engaging, informative and – above all – accurate, so that cruisers could know everything they needed before setting off on their journey.

We essentially needed to:

  • Research and write 360 port destination pages
  • Ensure our content was informative yet fun enough to get good engagement.

They identified key headings we would need to include for every destination. These included: port location, port facilities, how to get around, general information like currency, time zone and climate, and highlights of the region.

THE STRATEGY

We tackled this project in segments, completing set pages each month. This enables us to deliver hundreds of accurate and informative port pages in a timely manner.

For each page, we:

  • Identified reliable sources of information for each destination
  • Fact-checked user-generated content from other sites

Crafted high-quality port pages for locations all around the world.
